ELAD FDM-SW2 version of CSVUserlistBrowser
The version for the ELAD FDM-SW2 uses the CAT interface of the ELAD software. For data exchange a virtual COM port pair of a so called COM port emulator is required. See Preface.
It is also possible to control the Elad through its TCP interface (see further down). Then a COM port emulator is obsolete.
Brief instructions
  1. Download CSVUserlistBrowser and extract the files to a directory on your harddisk with full file write privileges.
  2. When CSVUserlistBrowser.exe is started you are prompted to name the receiver(s) which you want to control. Select "ELADFDM". (This step is only required once.)
  3. If not yet done install a virtual COM port emulator. Please read the hints on the page Preface.
  4. In case you have not downloaded station lists with CSVUserlistBrowser before please follow the instructions on the page First steps.
  5. In the ELAD software under "Setup Advanced", "Remote control" specify one of the two COM ports of a virtual pair you have set up, e. g. COM12. Only the ELAD CAT mode "Slave" is supported. E. g. DRM can only be tuned in with RX1.
  6. Start ELADFDM-CSVUserlistBrowser.exe.
  7. In ELADFDM-CSVUserlistBrowser.exe under "Options, Settings", "COM ports/TCP" specify its "partner", e. g. COM13. The baud rate normally is ignored but it's a good idea to select the same as in the ELAD setup. Click "Apply".
Now doubleclicking an entry in a list in ELADFDM-CSVUserlistBrowser should tune the corresponding frequency on the ELAD.
WARNING: Never use an Elad FDMSW2 CAT control on a VSPE splitter! Any of the applications controlling the Elad will fail sooner or later! Elad uses a YAESU CAT protocol which does not allow unique interpretation of the data responded. A combination of Omnirig and MaxDbSm will fail as a combination of Omnirig and ELADFDM-CSVUserlistBrowser will fail (and others). ELADFDM-CSVUserlistBrowser does its best to sort out the received data, but a stable coexistance is not guaranteed.
COM-Port
TCP version
Since version 1_107Beta of the Elad SW2 software remote controlling through a TCP server is also possible. A virtual COM port is no longer required.
Under Elad settings "Remote Ctrl" activate the TCP server on an address listed (the image shows just an example). In the settings of ELADFDM-CSVUserlistBrowser select the same IP address and enter the same port. It has turned out that in most cases selecting "Any IP address" on the Elad side and "localhost" in CSVUserlistBrowser works reliable. Click the "T" button to check the connection. Then click "Apply COM port/TCP settings" ("Use TCP" must be chosen) and the control of Elad should now be done through the TCP server. This Elad interface has more capabilities and control is much more responsive than the CAT control through a virtual COM port.
